Yesterday we went to Ta’Detta, a restaurant at the Valletta Waterfront which specializes in Traditional Maltese food (but not only!). We tried out the different maltese dishes which they serve, amongst others. They start you off with a platter, which had galletti, dips and maltese bread, this is COMPLIMENTARY! Isn’t that amazing? Then for our mains we tried out the snails, which Luke couldn’t stop eating, then the horse meat, which was so tender & delicious. This was then followed by the octopus (another favorite of Luke).
Lastly we had bragioli, which were filled with egg (the traditional way!) and rabbit! The sauce for these two was delicious and the meat was so so soft! Enjoyed every second eating these dishes! As a post-dinner drink we tried their tropical drink, which is delicious!
We finished off our amazing dinner with dessert which was so fresh! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner & head chef, who are amazing people who are always making sure that you enjoy your dinner! Regarding the atmosphere of the place we had a sea view table, which was beautiful! There was also a local guitarist playing some traditional music which we really enjoyed listening to!
Overall we’d like to give them a full 10/10! Genuinely! We are definitely going to be visiting again, and are currently planning when we should go back🤩. Ps. They also accept the government vouchers!
